Nonnie's Visit

 It's become a little bit of a tradition for my mom to come down in the summer to help me get my classroom ready. This summer was no different, but a certain cutie pie kept us pretty busy! We did manage to finish getting my class ready, which is such a relief, and spend some quality time with Nonnie outside of school, too.
Hadley LOVES to read and Nonnie loves to read to her. I snapped a few pictures of them doing what they love!

8 Months

My sweet Hadley Faye,

It's absolutely been the best whirlwind raising you the past 8 months. You have brought a happiness to my life that I never knew existed until now. You are the most beautiful, sweetest and funniest baby and I am so so blessed to call you ours. Words will never express the amount of love that I have for you and when I think of the fact that your heavenly father loves you more then I do it brings tears to my eyes. 

You are such a joy, babe. We love watching you grow and learn and this month brought lots of learning and growing! You are now officially a crawler. Yay Hadley!! We are so proud of you and this new accomplishment, because we saw you work so hard at it! Your hard work payed off and you are crawling all around the house. Today I was trying to rock you to sleep for a nap and you weren't too thrilled with the idea of a nap. I put you down on the floor to grab something really quickly and you rolled over and crawled out of your room! You were saying, "No thanks, mom! I don't need a nap today!"

You also started saying mama this month!! I LOVE this new trick! I feel like you are starting to associate people or objects to their names, too. When I say, "Where's mama?" you always look for me. 

You had your first ear infection recently, which broke my heart for you. It really did a number on your sleep, because instead of waking up once or twice during the night like usual, you began waking up 4+ times. I think you're teething right now, too, which doesn't help your sleep. For a baby that doesn't get tons of sleep you are always so delightful and compliant! You really are an easy going baby. You just seem content in whatever situation you find yourself. 

I am so proud of you, love. You mean the world to me and you dad!

Our day with Sutton...

A few weeks ago Hadley had her friend Sutton over for an evening to play. Sutton's mom and dad trade off date nights with us and this was our turn to watch Sutton so that they could go out. These two babies are so fascinated by each other. They are constantly watching and reaching for each other. It's adorable! We had a great time hanging out. We played with all of Hadley's toys, read books, took a walk and watched Praise Baby. Sutton was a wonderful guest and Hadley was a fantastic hostess!

Nap Time Fun

 The other day we put Hadley down for her afternoon nap and when I layed her in her crib she was asleep, but when I looked on the monitor I saw this...

She was most definitely not wanting to nap. She would much rather play and sing! I love this picture of her giggling at herself!

Crawling!

Hadley is crawling! Our lives are about to get a lot more interesting. She's been crawling for about a week now and she has already gotten so much better. The first time that she crawled Shane and I were sitting on the floor with her playing and all the sudden she spotted a toy she wanted over by Shane. Instead of doing her usual reeeeeeaaach to get the toy she started CRAWLING! Me and Shane were silent watching. I grabbed his leg and we just looked at each other and smiled. I ran to get the ipad to video it and after several minutes of coaxing she finally did it again. She was pretty clumsy for a few days, but she looks like a pro now! I just can't believe my baby is crawling. Before long she's gonna be walking. Slow down, Hadley!
