24 Weeks

How far along? 24 weeks
How are you measuring? roughly 36 3/4 inches
Size of baby? according to What To Expect she's 8.5 inches and 1.5 lbs and is as big as an ear of corn
Heartbeat? at our 23 week appointment the heartbeat was between 140-150 bpm
Total weight gain/loss? +16 lbs
Maternity Clothes? I'm living in the shorts that my mom bought me!
Stretch Marks? No...
Sleep? I'm still getting up to go to the bathroom once during the night. I'm tossing back and forth from my right side to my left lots during the night, but it's not disturbing me too much; I usually go right back to sleep after repositioning. I am getting thirsty during night now. I'll usually drink a whole large cup worth of water a night.
Best moment this week? Finding out that I passed my glucose and iron tests! I was so scared that I would fail for some reason!
Movement? She definitely has her favorite times of the day to wake up and move. I love her kicks and punches!
Food Cravings? Sonic stuffed jalapenos... oh so good but oh so bad for me.
Name? Oh me oh my. This sweet baby is still un-named. My new faves of the week are Pacey and Piper.
What I miss? This week Shane's been gone at a fire fighter convention and I miss him!!!!!!
What I'm looking forward to? Shane coming home! Hurry up Friday!
How are you feeling? The 2nd trimester is so nice; I'm feeling great!

Mom Mobile

With the baby on the way Shane and I really needed a reliable car. Our high school cars just weren't cutting it anymore. Shane sold his Jetta and he'll be driving my Explorer... and I get the new Camry! Since this pic was taken I've added a Texas Tech emblem on the back. Now she's complete!

Gender Unveiling Party

After our 19 week sonogram we had to wait 5 whole days for our Gender Unveiling Party with our family. It was a pretty brutal wait, but I'm so glad we did. It was so much funner finding out the gender with family then in a doctors office.

Here's the cake...

Proud soon-to- be Parents...

My best friend Jenna. I was so glad she came!

Team blue predicts a boy!

Team Pink predicts a girl!

Tim cheated. He said, "I don't know!"

Shane and his dad

Me and my brother, Russell.

And it's a.......

GIRL!!! This is an ugly (but very happy) cry!!

And lastly, here's the video. Again, please don't just the ugly cry! : )

23 Weeks

how far along? 23 weeks
how are you measuring? Roughly 35 1/2 inches
size of baby? According to my What To Expect app 8 inches and 1.2 lbs
heartbeat? At our 19 week appointment 151 bpm
total weight gain/loss? +15 lbs... oh man.
maternity clothes? Mom felt sorry for me and got me a couple pair of shorts and tops. I'm so much more comfy now. The bellyband was only cutting it for so long.
stretch marks? No... fingers crossed
sleep? I sleep pretty well but I'm missing being able to turn on my back. I've been putting a pillow under my belly and in between my legs to help stay comfy but every time I turn over to lay on my other side I have to readjust. This happens quite often during the night. I'm only getting up for a bathroom break once a night, though, which is nice.
best moment this week? I actually saw the baby move on my belly! Such a cool sight!
movement? I feel most movement in the evenings and mornings. I feel her a lot more when I'm not being active, but when I'm out and about I don't feel her as much.
food cravings? Doritos have been my latest 'craving'. Today Shane pointed out that he had never seen me eat Doritos, but I'm on my second bag in 2 weeks. Yikes.
gender predictions? It's a girl! We still haven't decided on a name. Faye is going to be the middle name after Shane's grandma. Shane's favorite names are Emmy, Emelia and Penelope. He seems to lean toward traditional. I seem to lean toward unique. My favorite names are Hadley, Scout, Sage, Sloan and Lyric.
what i miss: Sushi and a large vanilla Dr. Pepper. yum.
what i'm looking forward to: getting baby furniture. We'll need to wait until next month, but I'm excited about getting furniture in her room!
how are you feeling? We have an appointment tomorrow to have my glucose tests. I'm a little anxious about it, but other then that I'm feeling great.

It begins...

Ok, so yes I'm going to make an effort at this whole blogging thing. We'll see how it goes; fingers crossed. I really want to be better at documenting things especially with my pregnancy and upcoming daughter. This is going to be a personal blog which will pretty much be of interest to me and my family. At least, I hope my family will be interested. : )

I thought I would start off with a fast forward of my first 22 weeks of pregnancy. It's actually gone really fast. It's gone a lot faster after I stopped puking for sure. I was really sick for about the first 14 weeks. My sweet Shane was a saint. He did whatever he could to make me comfortable and cook what I could keep down.
I had a few random cravings. One of the cravings that I had was pickles. I went to the store and bought a huge jar of pickles thinking, "This will last me a long time!" I took them home and in one sitting ate 6 medium sized pickles. I looked at Shane and said, " Babe! Did you see how many pickles I just ate!?"
"Oh yeah. That's a lot."
...fast forward 30 minutes and we saw those pickles again.
This is true of a lot of my cravings I had that first trimester. I try not to have too many cravings now. One thing that always sounds good, though, has been mexican food. YUM!
A couple more things to note:
Around 18 weeks I started to feel the low flutters that are described as butterflies. I of course thought it couldn't be the baby- it had to be gas.
At 19 weeks we had our sonogram to find out what the baby was. We had a gender unveiling party with our family so we didn't find out at the appointment. The technician had us look away when she was looking at the baby's delicates. We were able to see the baby and how much she had grown. It's so bizarre that she's inside of me growing. It's a little Alien-ish. She would squirm around on the screen. My mom came with us to this appointment and I was glad that she was able to experience that with us.
*Side note- Shane's been with me to every single appointment. What a man.
At 19 weeks 3 days I felt what I knew were kicks.
At 19 weeks 5 days we found out at our gender unveiling party that she is a girl!
Between 20 and 21 weeks we took a trip to Gulf Shores Alabama with another couple, Joel and Kristen Williams.

While on vacation, at 20 weeks 6 days, Shane first felt a kick! That was really an exciting time. "That's so cool!" was his reaction. We snapped a pic right after it happened.

At 21 weeks I started having side cramps on my right side. Apparently it was ligament stretching.
At 22 weeks 6 days I first saw my belly moving. It was so crazy. First a couple kicks then it looked like a wave went about an inch across the right side of my stomach.
Tomorrow starts 23 weeks. Only 17 more weeks to go!

21 Weeks
