Valentine's Day

Shane was at the station this year for Valentine's Day so me and Hadley had a date at home. A few days before Valentine's I found this note along with a note from Shane in my car. I've got the sweetest husband and baby in the world!

Look how smart she is! Already writing at 3 months old!

3 months

Hadley,
When did mommy give you permission to turn 3 months old? Slow down baby! I know I'll look back on this and laugh, but 3 months sounds so big to this new mommy! I am so blessed by you each and every day. I went back to work this month and it's been a hard transition for me. I hate leaving you every morning. You are so special to me and I want to experience all of your milestones with you, but I know that right now I need to be at work so that I can help provide for you.
I'm so proud of you for some of the milestones that you've hit this month. You've started "talking" tons! You say aahhh and squeal this incredibly high pitched squeal. Your daddy likes to say, "Hadley, say ahh..." then when you do he celebrates with you! You'll talk to whoever will listen now-a-days.
You've also been "standing" lately. We'll hold you up and you'll lock your knees to a standing position. You love it. You're not as content sitting here lately. You can hold yourself up for quite a while, too.
You had a rough patch there for awhile when it came to sleeping. Mommy and Daddy were getting up at all hours of the night with you. But, we put you back on your routine and for the past week or so you've been sleeping great. You've even made it until 6:15 am a couple times! You usually go to sleep around 7:30-8 pm then I dream feed you around 9:30 pm. So for you to make it until 6:15 is wonderful! I'm hoping this trend lasts!
You're still very into your fingers! Last month you were trying to stick your whole fist in your mouth, but this month you're all about the fingers. Sometimes you cram them so far back you gag yourself. I've had to put mittens on you occasionally to stop you from doing that.
You've got the sweetest smile. Sometimes when I'm nursing you you'll look up at me and grin the best little grin. Those are some of my favorite smiles. You're not one to give away smiles left and right. We have to work for smiles from you. So for you to offer me a smile free of charge melts my heart.
You have had a little cold recently. You've got a stuffy nose that wakes you up and makes you a little cranky sometimes. I try and suction your nose, but there is not a lot that you hate more. Poor baby. You got your mama's allergies.
I'm so proud of you and so proud to be your mom. You're such a beautiful little baby- everyone tells us! I'm excited to see what this month has in store!
Love always,
Mommy

Sweet squeals!

You are seriously the prettiest baby I've ever seen!

Aunt J's Visit

Jenna took the long trip from Lubbock to Lavon last weekend to meet my precious Hadley. I was so excited for them to meet! Jenna is my best friend and it was killing me that she hadn't met my girl yet; I couldn't wait to show her this new amazing part of my life. Pictures and videos just weren't hacking it. They needed to meet. We had a really good weekend together and even managed to get away just the two of us for some shopping. (Thanks Shane!)
I'm really glad that she came. Hadley loves her already! Now we need to plan a Lubbock trip! Maybe for a football game? Hadley's already got a cheerleading outfit!
