29 Weeks

The view I have looking down...

How far along? 29 weeks
How are you measuring? roughly 38 1/2 inches
Size of baby? according to What To Expect she's 17 inches, 3.1 lbs, and as big as a butternut squash
Heartbeat? At the hospital yesterday it was around 150 bpm
Total weight gain/loss? According to the doctors scale at 27 weeks I've gained +15 lbs. I got back at 30 weeks so we'll see what they say!
Maternity Clothes? I got 2 new shirts at Motherhood and a skirt at Old Navy this week
Stretch Marks? Still no stretch marks
Sleep? Sleep has been pretty good for the most part this week. My hips still hurt at night, but I think the chiropractor helps.
Best moment this week? Shane surprising me with a diaper bag! Sooo sweet!
Movement? She's been pretty good at moving around. I had a little scare yesterday when I was busy at work and at the end of the day thought, "Did I feel her today?" When I sit down and relax I can feel her moving around plenty.
News? Yesterday I called my doctor to tell her that I didn't feel like I had felt her move like I normally did. I left a message for my nurse and totally expected her to call me back and tell me everything was fine and give it time. Unfortunately, my nurse and my doctor were out so a nurse I didn't know called back and told me to go to the L&D section of the hospital to get it checked out. Of course I freaked out! Shane was in Bonham and I was supposed to drive into Dallas to make sure Hadley was alright? I don't think so. I called Shane and calmly (fine, hysterically) told him what was going on. He said he'd be right there. He told me to go home and wait on him and try to relax. I went home and layed on the couch and tried to watch tv to take my mind off of the situation. I felt Hadley moving and felt pretty confident that everything was fine, but I knew I needed to go in to find out for sure and get peace of mind. Shane finally arrived and off we went to Dallas. Shane sped a little and I felt like I was getting a taste of what being in labor and driving to the hospital would be like. When we arrived they hooked me up to a machine that listened to Hadley's heartbeat. It sounded wonderful. Healthy heartbeat. Happy mom. They monitored her heartbeat for about 30-45 minutes before a doctor came in to do a sonogram. I got a little glimps at Haddie while the doctor measured and took notes. She said Hadley looked great and got a perfect score! Before she stopped looking I asked her to make sure that Hadley was a girl. (I've had a fear- what if they got it wrong?? It happens, right?) Don't worry, Hadley's definitely girl. : )
I'm going to try and not be so paranoid for the last 10 weeks of pregnancy. We'll see how that goes...
Food Cravings? Salt and Vinigar chips and bagels and Nutella spread
What I miss? Dr. Pepper
What I'm looking forward to? Getting Haddie's nursery ready
How are you feeling? I'm still feeling good, but I'm starting to feel tired again. Maybe it's starting back to work or maybe it's 3rd trimester. Who knows?

Big Brother and Big Sister

They're getting excited to meet the Little Raider!!

Best moment of the week!

I can't wait until my Wednesday post to tell about the best moment this week! It deserves it's own post. Let me start out by saying, I have the best husband any girl could ask for. He is amazing. He has been such a support throughout our pregnancy. He waits on me hand and foot, spoils me rotten and even manages to romance me in all this chaos.
On Thursday I got home to see that he had put together Hadley's crib and dresser. I thought that was going to be the best moment of the week right there! I loved seeing what her room was becoming! We put all her bedding on her bed and stood around talking about and soaking in what was coming. I know that I've seen pictures of Hadley and I know that I feel Hadley moving around, but for some reason seeing her room come together made it so much more real! We're having a baby!
On Friday I got home and immediately said, "Let's go to Hadley's room!" Shane said okay and off we went. I opened the door and stared at her crib for a few seconds before noticing a box on the dresser. It had a card on top of the box and when I opened the card I read the sweetest words. "My first gift to Hadley Faye. I love you both very much. Love, Daddy" The tears came soon after and I hugged Shane. I was so touched by his words. I opened the box and saw a Vera Bradley diaper bag that I had been eying.
I'm a lucky girl to have a husband that tries so hard to make me happy.
I love you so much, Shane, and Hadley's blessed to have you for a Daddy.

Sweet Students

One of my students from last year brought me this banner yesterday. I thought it was so sweet! This is why I have a good job!

28 Weeks

3 for Third Trimester!

How far along? 28 weeks
How are you measuring? a little over 38 inches
Size of baby? according to What To Expect she's 17 inches, 2.9 lbs, and as big as a small cabbage
Heartbeat? at our 27 week appointment the heartbeat was between 150-160 bpm
Total weight gain/loss? According to the doctors scale at 27 weeks I've gained +15 lbs. I got back at 30 weeks so we'll see what they say!
Maternity Clothes? So far all I've worn to work is dresses and skirts. They're so comfortable right now! And, I can still fit into a lot of my pre-pregnancy dresses.
Stretch Marks? Still no stretch marks
Sleep? I'm still sleeping pretty good! I'm wondering if going to the chiropractor has been helping my hips to stop hurting.
Best moment this week? We bought Hadley's crib and dresser yesterday!!!
Movement? I seriously can't get enough of her movements! Even tonight as I was watching tv I felt what had to be her entire leg run across my stomach. It's such a crazy process and it's amazing to be a part of. I feel so blessed. I do, however, wish that Shane was able to feel it like I do. I want to share it with him, but I guess that the joys of being the mom!
News? School started this week. When Hadley is born I'm going to miss having her with me all day. I love knowing that she is listening to me as I teach and interact with the kids.
Food Cravings? Still craving those sweets! I've been on a Starburst kick for a little while.
What I miss? Having control over my emotions. Geez.
What I'm looking forward to? I'm looking forward to coming home from work tomorrow and seeing the crib and dresser set up!! (Thanks babe!)
How are you feeling? I'm feeling really good. We're in the 3rd trimester and I'm so excited to see what it holds for us!

A note from Hadley

This is my favorite spot. I like to put my knees and elbows here all day. It's the best spot in my whole womb!

27 weeks

These are the worst quality pictures, but they'll have to do.
How far along? 27 weeks
How are you measuring? roughly 37 3/4 inches
Size of baby? according to What To Expect she's 16 inches, 2.5 lbs, and as big as a head of cauliflower
Heartbeat? at our 27 week appointment the heartbeat was between 150-160 bpm
Total weight gain/loss? According to the doctors scale I've gained +15 lbs. I like the doctors scale better so we'll go with that.
Maternity Clothes? My mother-in-law got me a gift card to Baby Gap for some maternity clothes and I found lots! I got 5 shirts and 2 skirts- just in time for school!
Stretch Marks? Still no stretch marks
Sleep? I know I'm going to jinx myself here, but I've been sleeping pretty good the past few nights. I'm completely surrounded by pillows (2 under my head, one under my belly, one between my legs and one behind my back) so I know I look like a dork, but I'm comfy so who cares.
Best moment this week? When I was at Baby Gap surfing the clothing racks I looked up and saw Shane looking through the baby racks. He then proudly brought me his find and said, "Hadley would look so cute in this; she has to have it!" It was so sweet to see him excited about his little girl.
Movement? She's a moving! The other night I was laying in bed and felt her leg(?) push into my stomach. It was uncomfortable so I gently pushed back and immediately felt that leg move across my stomach. Weirdest (kinda alienish) feeling ever. But so cool. I freaked out just a little. It was like she was responding to my touch.
News? This week I started going to the chiropractor since my tailbone has been hurting. I've been twice so far and think it's making a difference. I haven't noticed my hips hurting at night either.
Food Cravings? Still craving those sweet!
What I miss? Sleeping on my back
What I'm looking forward to? This is more of a wish then looking forward to, but I wish people would stop telling me how tiny my belly is! Yes, the baby is healthy, so please stop looking so concerned when you say, "You're so little!" I'm sure you think you're being sweet, but I don't want to worry about the size of my belly so please stop saying it. I'm tall and thin and my baby has lots of room. All is good. No need to compare my belly to your sisters or friends, because I would bet that they are a different body type completely. There. I said it.
How are you feeling? I think I love you, second trimester.

26 Weeks

How far along? 26 weeks
How are you measuring? roughly 37 1/4 inches
Size of baby? according to What To Expect she's 15 inches, 2.2 lbs, and as big as a cucumber
Heartbeat? at our 23 week appointment the heartbeat was between 140-150 bpm
Total weight gain/loss? + 18-19 lbs. This is according to my scale at home. We go to the doctor next Wednesday so I'm interested to see what they say.
Maternity Clothes? My friend Blair bought me a cute maternity skirt and shirt from Old Navy for my birthday! I love them and I'll be able to wear them to school!
Stretch Marks? Still no stretch marks
Sleep? I've been going to the bathroom a couple times a night and I still switch sides a lot during the night because my hips hurt.
Best moment this week? I may have found daycare for our sweet girl for the days that Shane's at the fire station!! This would be a huge stress off my shoulders!
Movement? She's been a groover this week! A couple times I've been able to feel her knee or foot against my side. When you touch it it feels like a little bump on my stomach. I'm also pretty sure that on Sunday she had the hiccups.
Food Cravings? Cheese. I'm loving string cheese for a snack! Last night I ate a ridiculous amount of mac and cheese.
Name? WE HAVE A NAME!!!! HADLEY FAYE!!! Shane says he's gonna call her Haddie... so cute!
What I miss? Sleeping on my back
What I'm looking forward to? My tailbone area has been hurting lately so I'm looking forward to that not hurting anymore.
How are you feeling? I'm still feeling good!

A few weeks ago I got my hair cut and got wispy bangs. I thought I'd show it off!

25 Weeks

How far along? 25 weeks
How are you measuring? roughly 37 inches
Size of baby? according to What To Expect she's 9.2 inches, 2 lbs, and as big as an eggplant
Heartbeat? at our 23 week appointment the heartbeat was between 140-150 bpm
Total weight gain/loss? + 18 lbs. This is according to my scale at home. We go to the doctor next Wednesday so I'm interested to see what they say.
Maternity Clothes? I'm starting to get a little nervous about clothes since I'm about to need to start dressing professional. Maybe I'll need to buy a few more maternity clothes!
Stretch Marks? Still no stretch marks
Sleep? I'm wondering if God is preparing me for 5 o'clock feedings, because I've been waking up around 5 and having trouble going back to sleep. I treasure my sleep tremendously so this has not been making me happy. It'll be different to loose sleep when I have a little one to care for, but as of right now I'm just lying in bed. Hopefully this will resolve itself soon!
Best moment this week? We took a trip to Port Aransas with my family and my dad felt the baby kick!
Movement? She still has her favorite times of the day to wake up and move. Lately I've been laying in bed in the mornings feeling her kick. It's a special time that we share so I hope it keeps up once school starts.
Food Cravings? Sweets. I've had such a sweet tooth this second trimester. It's a good thing I passed the glucose test.
Name? I'm back on Hadley this week. I love it. We could call her Haddie as a nickname.
What I miss? It's becoming harder and harder to lean forward to sit up or even just sit. I'm having to slouch in my chair to make room for the belly. Apparently my uterus is the size of a soccer ball and it's feeling like it's squishing my ribs. So I guess this week I miss being able to sit up easily. Oh, and I'm missing being able to eat crab. We went to Port Aransas this week with my family and salad and grilled chicken just don't cut it when there is crab.
What I'm looking forward to? We got our bedding in so now I'm looking forward to getting the crib!
How are you feeling? I'm still feeling good!
